North to Alaska: We made it!

Well, We finally made our destination. We traveled for 14 days and experienced high winds, hail, tornadoes, snow and ice, and a cancelled ferry in B.C. We even lost our awning from the camper (while driving) outside of Billings , Montana due to high winds. Needless to say we had a very interesting trip. No one could say it was boring! We got to see God’s handiwork as we traveled across our great nation and Canada . We thank all of you who were faithfully praying for our journey and safety.

When we arrived in Hollis we had a brief tour of the house and within 45 minutes Jeff was outside with a shovel in his hands working right along with the mission team that was already on-site working on the camp.

We would also like to announce that we are expecting another blessing from the Lord in November!!

What God has accomplished so far:

The first team here was a group from Significant Living. Their team members were from California , Indiana , Maryland and Florida . While they were still here a team from Medford Neighborhood Church in Medford Oregon arrived. We had 30+ people housed upstairs in the apartment, downstairs in the church, and in the cabins. Much work was done and within two weeks where there used to be nothing but bare ground, stood a bath house on a poured foundation framed up to the ceiling joists! PTL ! The Medford team led in an outreach to the community also by having free hotdogs and drinks to give to people waiting for or arriving on the ferry at the ferry terminal. Many people were affected by this as needs were met (over 120 hotdogs given away), folks got to meet the new pastor and family and hear about the camp. Several of the Medford team arrived on their Honda Gold Wings (members of the Christian Motorcycle Association.

The kid’s had a great experience when a team led by Lenard and Debbie Nance (YWAM) came to the island with a group of Native Americans to reach out to the native community here in Southeast Alaska. We learned a lot about the Native culture and history here on the island. A special ceremony was held one night where all our children were given their Indian names. Colton : Eagle Wolf, Caden: Eagle Fox, Cana: Eagle Deer, Canaan : Eagle Horse.
